AMM Site MHU Wins a K3 Award from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government for Optimal Performance in P2K3

Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is a crucial aspect of high-risk industries, mining included. As part of PPA Group — Indonesia's third-largest mining contractor — AMM is consistently committed to strengthening safety culture across all of its operating locations.

That commitment led AMM Site MHU to win an award from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government for its Performance and Active Reporting on the Occupational Health and Safety Development Committee (P2K3) in companies in 2024, in the Gold category. The award was given at the K3 Month 2025 launch ceremony held in Hangar D of Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan, on Thursday (6/2/2025). The ceremony also featured emergency response simulations by the ERTs of selected companies, AMM among them.

The award is a form of government recognition for companies that consistently apply K3 standards to the full in the workplace and are active in P2K3 reporting. The event was also attended by the Minister of Manpower, represented by the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik, the Head of the East Kalimantan Communication and Information Office Muhammad Faisal, and representatives of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, the East Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office, the military, the East Kalimantan Regional House of Representatives, the Nusantara Capital Authority, and 1,000 other participants.

In his remarks, Akmal Malik stressed the importance of implementing K3 and building human resource capacity in Indonesia's world of work. This aligns with the theme of National K3 Month 2025: "Penguatan Kapasitas Sumber Daya Manusia dalam Mendukung Penerapan Sistem Manajemen K3 (SMK3) untuk Meningkatkan Produktivitas". Akmal also expressed his hope that the companies receiving awards can set an example in making East Kalimantan a Zero Accident region.

"Kami mengapresiasi perusahaan yang telah menerapkan P2K3 dengan baik sebagai langkah nyata menuju zero accident di Kalimantan Timur. Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja adalah hak asasi yang harus dijaga, dan kami berharap lebih banyak perusahaan mencontoh praktik baik ini demi lingkungan kerja yang aman dan produktif," said Malik.

The award for AMM Site MHU was received by Agus Amirudin, AMM Head Section SHE. On the occasion, Agus expressed his thanks to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government for the award. He affirmed that it encourages AMM not only to be a motivator but also an inspiration in building safety culture in the workplace.

"Terima kasih untuk Pemprov Kaltim. Semoga penghargaan ini dapat memotivasi teman-teman yang lain agar dapat meningkatkan lagi kepedulian kita terhadap segala aspek K3 dan meningkatkan budaya K3. Jadilah Inspirasi bukan sekedar motivator dalam membangun budaya K3," said Agus Amirudin.
