PPA Drives a Skilled and Competitive Local Workforce through FODP at Site BIB in Tanah Bumbu

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) has again shown its commitment to developing local human resources with the launch of the Fresh Operator Development Program (FODP) student training programme for 2026 at Site Borneo Indobara (BIB). The event was held on 22 April 2026 at Rindam XII/Tambun Bungai, Banjarbaru.

The launch was attended by a representative of the Tanah Bumbu Regency Government, Kadri Mandar, S.Ag., M.H., Head of the Tanah Bumbu Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office. Also present were the Head of the Tanah Bumbu Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office, Hj. Zainab B., S.Sos., and her team. From PPA's management, those attending included Agung Budiarto, Operations Manager of PPA Site BIB, Indra Sutaryono, Head of HCS at PPA Head Office, Noor Akhmad, Dept. Head HCGA of PPA Site BIB, and Rosan Supriyadi, Dept. Head OPD of PPA Site BIB.

In his remarks, the representative of the Tanah Bumbu Regency Government expressed appreciation for PPA's initiative, judged to be in line with the regional government's vision of creating a skilled and competitive workforce.

"Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi contoh bagi perusahaan lain untuk turut berkontribusi dalam pengembangan sumber daya manusia. Kami juga berpesan agar seluruh peserta dapat mengikuti program ini dengan sungguh-sungguh hingga lulus dan memiliki kompetensi sebagai operator alat berat pertambangan," said Kadri.

A total of 23 participants, all from Tanah Bumbu, passed a rigorous selection process. In the first stage, participants will undergo mental, physical and discipline training (Bintalfisdis) for 10 days at Rindam Banjarbaru. They will then take theory and practical training in operating heavy equipment as grounding in the competence needed in the mining industry.

PPA aims for the participants to be recruited as heavy equipment operators at Site BIB in January 2027, so that the programme focuses not only on training but also opens real job opportunities for local people.

Indra Sutaryono, Head of HCS at PPA Head Office, stressed the importance of synergy between company and government in creating outstanding human resources.

"Kami berkomitmen untuk terus bersinergi dengan Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanah Bumbu melalui program-program bersama Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi maupun Balai Latihan Kerja, guna menciptakan tenaga kerja lokal yang unggul dan berdaya saing," he said.

The programme is part of PPA's continuing effort to empower communities around its operating areas. A similar programme had previously been run at Site Adaro, where in early April 2026 30 young people from Tabalong Regency were selected to take part in the FODP and Fresh Mechanic Development Program (FMDP).

Through this initiative, PPA continues to strengthen its role in creating competent mining professionals while supporting sustainable regional economic growth
