PPA Receives a Certificate of Appreciation from KESDM for its Aid to Cianjur Earthquake Victims

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for its participation and active role in helping to handle the Cianjur earthquake as part of the Tim ESDM Siaga Bencana 2022.

The certificate was presented by the Head of Engineering and Environment / Head of Mine Inspectors Sunindyo Suryo Herdadi to PPA Group Corporate ERT Adri Thanada at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal office, Jakarta, on Friday (06/01/2023).

The PPA Emergency Response Team (ERT) moved quickly, deploying 7 personnel consisting of one team leader, one doctor, three paramedics and one logistics officer to assist with evacuation through to trauma healing for victims of the Cianjur earthquake. The PPA ERT also brought in one field vehicle, one ambulance, one set of mountaineering equipment and four full-set water pump units for Basarnas, opened a health service post in Warung Kondang District, ran trauma healing activities for children affected by the earthquake, and together with the community opened public kitchens in three earthquake-affected villages: Gasol, Ngagrak and Nyalindung. PPA also supplied rice, eggs, cooking oil and mineral water to help meet the needs of communities affected by the earthquake.

Deploying its ERT on humanitarian and disaster preparedness missions is nothing new for PPA. The PPA ERT has been recorded going into the field to help victims of natural disasters in Indonesia at least 15 times since 2018, among them the Lombok earthquake (2018), the Palu earthquake and tsunami (2018), the Banten earthquake and tsunami (2019), the Tanah Laut flood in South Kalimantan (2020), the flash floods & landslides in NTT (2021), the Tanah Bumbu flood in Kalimantan (2021), the eruption of Mount Semeru (2021), the West Sumatra earthquake and landslide (2022), and the Sangatta disaster in East Kalimantan (2022)
