PPA Sends Humanitarian Aid to the Centre of the Türkiye Earthquake Disaster

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) assigned its Emergency Response Team to distribute humanitarian aid to victims of the Türkiye earthquake in Kahramanmaras, the epicentre of the M7.8 earthquake that was followed by an M7.6 quake and became one of the worst affected places. For this aid distribution the PPA ERT travelled together with Rumah Zakat and Fiki Naki, departing Jakarta on Tuesday (21 February 2023) for Istanbul, Türkiye.

The team arrived in Kahramanmaras the following day and surveyed several earthquake locations in Kahramanmaras and Hatay, checking on the condition of the displaced and the earthquake shelters, and visiting the food truck location first before going on to distribute aid, open a public kitchen and run trauma healing activities for children affected by the earthquake.

On its humanitarian mission to Türkiye, PPA delivered aid for 4,650 people, consisting of 5 tents, 2,000 hot meal packages, 800 ready-to-eat food packages, 270 staple food packages and 200 children's toy packages.

The PPA ERT distributed the aid on the ground in the cities of Kahramanmaras and Elbistan.

Beyond the company itself, PPA Group employees also took part in giving aid to victims of the Türkiye earthquake. Employee donations were given to the international NGO Hayrat and to Rumah Zakat.
