Demonstrating its commitment to enhancing community welfare, PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) Site PT Bukit Asam Tbk (BA) has extended social security protection to 453 vulnerable workers across Lawang Kidul District, Muara Enim Regency. The initiative was executed through PPA Site BA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by registering the beneficiaries for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Employment Social Security).
Vulnerable workers refer to individuals in the informal sector—such as farmers, street vendors, motorcycle taxi drivers, and daily freelance laborers—who face high occupational hazards but lack the financial capacity to independently pay for social security premiums.
Social security coverage is critical for this demographic. Without adequate protection, workplace accidents or sudden bereavement can severely disrupt a family's financial stability due to the loss of their primary breadwinner. Under BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, enrolled workers involved in work-related accidents receive full medical coverage and temporary income replacement. Furthermore, in the event of a participant's death, cash benefits and educational scholarships are awarded directly to the heirs to help preserve household economic continuity.

To maximize program impact, the distribution of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership cards was paired with an educational socialization session covering service claims and benefits. The session provided community members a platform to engage in discussions and ask operational questions regarding their coverage.
The event was attended by the Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Muara Enim Branch, Mansyur Syah; Section Head of HCGA at PT Putra Perkasa Abadi, Dedy Bayu Pradigdo; the Head of Lawang Kidul District; representatives from the local Military Command (Koramil) and Police (Polsek); as well as local village and sub-district government officials.
Section Head of HCGA at PPA, Dedy Bayu Pradigdo, explained that the program aims to elevate community awareness regarding social protection while offering peace of mind to workers' families.

“We hope this occupational accident and death security coverage provides a sense of security for vulnerable workers and helps safeguard their families' long-term financial stability,” Dedy stated.
This initiative builds upon PPA’s ongoing social protection program in Muara Enim, active since 2025. Demonstrating consistent support for the Jaksa Peduli Pekerja Rentan (Prosecution Service Cares for Vulnerable Workers) campaign, PPA was previously honored with an official award from the Muara Enim District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Muara Enim).
PPA remains dedicated to strengthening community welfare through impactful and sustainable CSR initiatives.
