PPA Sweeps Environmental Awards at ENSIA 2026

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) secured nine awards at the Environmental and Social Innovation Awards (ENSIA) 2026. This achievement stands as recognition for PPA Group's various innovations in driving operational efficiency, environmental management, and the implementation of sustainable business practices.

ENSIA is a national awards platform that encourages companies to develop environmental and social innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society. Carrying the theme "Innovation for Sustainable Business and Resilient Communities," ENSIA 2026 brought together 253 companies submitting 954 innovation papers and involving 48 local heroes.

The event was attended by the Minister of Environment / Head of the Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Moh. Jumhur Hidayat. He noted that corporate innovation plays an increasingly vital role in addressing the triple planetary crisis: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

"ENSIA is highly relevant to current needs and aligns directly with the Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) and the Ecological Repentance Movement promoted by the Ministry of Environment," he said.

During the event held on September 9–10, 2026, PPA Site BIB clinched four Platinum awards. Two Platinums were awarded in the Energy Efficiency Category for the Battery Swap System-based Electric Dump Truck innovation and the Mining Lighting Transformation through the Hybrid Energy-based Additional Lamp for Excavator PC2000-8, both part of the Green Mining Transformation initiative.

PPA Site BIB also earned a Platinum award in the Emissions Reduction Category for its SRT100: Mining Acceleration & Resource Transformation innovation, which enhances energy efficiency and operational smoothness. Another Platinum was secured in the Hazardous Waste Reduction and Utilization Category for the 4x Longer Fuel Filter Life PC2000-8 innovation.

Further contributions came from PPA Site MLP, which won a Silver award in the Energy Efficiency Category through its "SINERGI" program—an Integrated Energy Efficiency Management System based on five pillars: Strategy, Operations, People, Control, and Technology.

Meanwhile, PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM) Site Indonesia Pratama (IPT), a subsidiary of PPA, bagged two Platinum awards. These were awarded for the Utilization of Used R12 Tires to Increase the CBR Base Value of the Tiwa Abadi South Road from 7% to 40%, and the Installation of an Auto Flushing Fuel System to Reduce Fuel Filter Waste and Sump Contamination Risk on Multiflo Units.

PPA Site Adaro Indonesia also earned a Gold award in the Waste Management Environmental Innovation Category through its Circular Economy Implementation Program Converting Waste into Economic Value. Additionally, PPA Site Adaro Indonesia received a Silver award in the Energy Efficiency Category for reducing fuel usage during coal optimization, cleaning, and loading using a single PC300-8 excavator with a modified bucket.

Sunaryo, Department Head of HCGA at PPA, emphasized that these innovations should extend beyond event accolades to become embedded in the work culture across PPA Group’s operational sites.

"PPA hopes that creating innovation becomes a standard practice for collective benefit, rather than just fulfilling a responsibility. We also hope that innovations developed at one site can be replicated across other sites," he said.
