Putra Perkasa Abadi Expedition 2022 Sends a Team to Explore the Himalayas

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) has sent its Expedition Team 2022 to explore the Himalayas. The PPA expedition team 2022 set off from PPA's Head Office in Jakarta targeting the ice summits of Island Peak (6,189 masl) and Mera Peak (6,476 masl) in the Himalayas. The PPA Expedition Team's departure was marked by PPA's board (16/09/2022), attended by PPA Directors Sujoko Martin and R Teguh Saptosubroto.

The expedition is an important moment for Putra Perkasa Abadi, which will write new history as a mining contractor running a mission to climb two ice summits in the Himalayas. On the occasion, Putra Perkasa Abadi Director Sujoko Martin voiced his support for the PPA expedition team's climb to the summits of Island Peak and Mera Peak. Sujoko Martin said the whole PPA Expedition Team 2022 is ready physically and mentally. Beforehand, the Expedition Team went through several try-out periods, one of them the final selection of team members over 10 days on Mount Lawu for acclimatisation and physical and mental adjustment, along with adjustment of behaviour and habits ahead of departure for the Himalayas.

Putra Perkasa Abadi Director R Teguh Saptosubroto explained that the PPA expedition team will begin its climb on 17 September 2022 and finish on 17 October 2022. "Rencananya Tim Ekspedisi PPA 2022 akan melintasi jalur pendakian Everest Base Camp menuju Island Peak selanjutnya kembali ke Everest Base Camp menuju Mera Peak," said R Teguh Saptosubroto.

R Teguh Saptosubroto stressed that the PPA 2022 Himalayan expedition consistently puts PPA's vision and mission first, with the emphasis on excellent mining human resources. "Salah satu misi kami yaitu target pencapaian sumber daya manusia unggul dengan kompetensi keahlian yang mendukung penyelesaian pekerjaan pertambangan," said R Teguh Saptosubroto. According to R Teguh Saptosubroto, climbing to the icy summits of Island Peak and Mera Peak requires both preparation and execution, and that mirrors the development of mining human resources, which likewise requires preparation and execution.

Adri Thanada, Head of Stakeholder Relations, explained that the PPA 2022 expedition climb is an internalisation of the company values: Faith in God Almighty, Integrity, Teamwork, Creativity, the Will to Win and Excellence in Work. The send-off ceremony for the PPA expedition team was marked symbolically with a group photo of the PPA board of directors and the PPA Expedition Team 2022, followed by a group photo of PPA employees with the team. The PPA Expedition Team is made up of three climbers. The PPA Expedition Team 2022 arrived safely in Kathmandu, Nepal on Saturday (17/9/2022) at 19:30 local time. In the latest update, the PPA Expedition Team was at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla (18/9/2022). Tenzing Hillary Airport is known as the most extreme airport in the world because of its thin air, changeable weather and short, sloping runway.
