Supporting Green Mining, PPA & AMM Site BIB Adopt Electric Vehicles from the SWI x SANY Collaboration

PT Star Wagon Indonesia (SWI), member of PPA, formally handed over a number of electric heavy equipment units to PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) Site BIB and PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM) Site BIB. The handover took place at AMM Site BIB on Thursday (18/12/2025).

The handover was attended by Heru Yulianto, Head of the Environmental Engineering Section at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM), as a mark of government support. Heru said the use of electric units supports the government's efforts to protect the environment by reducing the use of fossil-fuelled heavy equipment, and is hoped to set an example across the national mining sector.

"Pemanfaatan kendaraan listrik ini diharapkan dapat mendukung upaya pemerintah, tidak hanya sebagai contoh penerapan teknologi ramah lingkungan, tetapi juga sebagai referensi dalam penyusunan regulasi bagi sektor pertambangan. Melalui langkah ini, diharapkan upaya perlindungan dan penanggulangan kerusakan lingkungan dapat dilakukan secara lebih efektif, khususnya di wilayah Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan," said Heru.

The event was also attended by a line-up of directors and senior management from PPA, AMM, SWI and BIB: PPA President Director Joko Triraharjo, PPA Operations Director R Teguh Sapto Subroto, PPA Business Development & Legal Director Muhammad Affan, AMM Operations Director Arif Rahman, SWI Sales Director Issac Antony, SWI Marketing Director Weli Perwira, Sany Perkasa President Director Yan Sui, PPA Site BBA Operations Manager Margono, AMM Site BIB Operations Manager Arman Suyanto, and PT Borneo Indobara Mine Technical Head Riadi Simka Pinem.

Echoing Heru, PPA President Director Joko Triaharjo explained that the handover is an initiative expressing PPA's and AMM's commitment to sustainable mining practice.

"PPA dan AMM terus berkomitmen untuk menuju praktik pertambangan yang berkelanjutan (green mining). Salah satu inisiatif yang kami lakukan dalam mendukung komitmen tersebut adalah melalui pemanfaatan kendaraan listrik (electric vehicle) sebagai bagian dari transformasi operasional yang lebih ramah lingkungan," said Joko Triraharjo.

As partner and customer, BIB also fully supports the use of electric units for PPA's and AMM's operations going forward. This was conveyed by PT Borneo Indobara Mine Technical Head Riadi Simka Pinem.

"PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) dan PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM) merupakan perusahaan yang senantiasa berinovasi serta berkomitmen untuk mematuhi seluruh regulasi yang ditetapkan oleh PT Borneo Indobara. Perkembangan inisiatif keberlanjutan yang dilakukan menunjukkan progres yang signifikan, di mana pada awalnya operasional masih didukung oleh teknologi hybrid. Namun saat ini, PPA dan AMM telah mengambil langkah lebih lanjut dengan mengimplementasikan penggunaan kendaraan listrik (electric vehicle) secara langsung untuk mendukung kegiatan operasional pertambangan," said Riadi Simka Pinem.

The handover was held with due ceremony: a symbolic handing over of keys from SWI's board to the boards of PPA and AMM, the presentation of a heavy equipment model from PPA's board to the Site BIB Operations Manager, and the pressing of a button by the boards of PPA, SWI and AMM to symbolise the start of site operations using SANY electric vehicles.

The units handed over were 30 Sany Electric Rigid Dump Truck SYZ 445C and 2 Swap Station SY 510 to PPA Site BIB; and 2 Sany Electric Excavator SY 600 E, 2 electronic Excavator SY 215 E and 1 Electric Wheel Loader SW 966 E to AMM.
